HERE is an app designed to help people find them.
It’s a faster, more streamlined, curated, and coherent way to find queer spaces that’s aesthetically pleasing and isn’t cluttered with ads and irrelevant data.
Completed over the course of a semester, the project was a combination of research, branding, illustration, and user experience design.
The visual identity drew inspiration from protest signs, pre-liberation queer periodicals, punk zines, and other ad hoc print works, as well as relevant contemporary editorial design.
The goal was to cultivate a look that evoked queer cultures and histories without falling into mainstream corporate tropes.
