Visual Identity — Illustrator / Indesign / Photoshop
In 2022, the band Sons of an Illustrious Father, which had existed in many forms with many lineups over 15 years, was reimagined as the duo ODDKIN.
The name was borrowed from cyberfeminist theorist Donna Haraway, a term initially explicated in her visionary Staying With The Trouble: Making Kin in the Cthulucene.
Exploring gender, monadism, and attachment, the logo, album artwork, admats, and merchandise for Oddkin drew upon Haraway’s subject matter, Alejandro Jodorowsky and Moebius’ “Emperoress” from The Incal, the key art for David Cronenberg’s Dead Ringers (1988), and alchemical and astrological symbolism.
The secondary typeface is “G.B. Jones” by Nat Pyper.
